The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City proposed establishing a team to synthesize and handle people's petitions before implementing the merger of administrative units.

On the afternoon of November 2, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a conference to implement Resolution No. 1251/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the period 2023 - 2024.

At the conference, leaders of district, county, department and branch units pointed out the difficulties and problems of the locality before implementing the merger of administrative units.

Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said: "All rights of the people must be guaranteed, and no trouble must be caused to the people. If possible, you must establish working groups to remove and handle obstacles and difficulties of citizens."

Mr. Chinh also suggested that Thanh Khe, Lien Chieu, and Hai Chau districts establish a team to handle petitions from people in the wards. In 2025, there will be many new policies, so the district needs to direct the wards to review all petitions, not allowing any shortcomings to occur. Maximum support is needed to avoid people having difficulties with administrative procedures due to the merger.

From January 1, 2025, Da Nang city will merge 17 commune-level administrative units. After the merger, Da Nang city will have 36 wards and 11 communes, 9 wards less than at present.
