At 6:30 am on March 14, Bach Long Vi special zone held the opening ceremony of the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. Bach Long Vi special zone is the only locality in Hai Phong city to have the National Election Council approved a plan for the military and people of the special zone to organize the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies of the city 1 day earlier, on March 14. The election was held in 2 voting areas: the Public Service Center and the Bach Long Vi Island Defense Battalion. From early morning, amidst the bustling music of the "mountain and river festival", special zone voters excitedly went to the polling stations, exercising their rights and responsibilities as citizens.

Captain Do Tung Lam - Ship CSB2008, Flotilla 112, Naval Regiment 11 Command of Coast Guard Region 1 (Vietnam Coast Guard) - said, being able to hold the ballot to early elect National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term in the distant sea, I personally feel very honored and proud. As a soldier working in the Coast Guard force, I clearly understand my responsibility for the ballot. The votes of each officer and soldier of ship CSB 2008 not only send faith and expectations for a new term, but also affirm our determination in the process of performing tasks, contributing to firmly protecting sea and island sovereignty as well as ensuring security and safety throughout the election process of the whole country.
According to Mr. Dao Minh Dong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of the special zone, Deputy Head of the Election Committee of the Bach Long Vi special zone - said that not only are there early elections, voters in the Bach Long Vi special zone only elect 2 levels: National Assembly deputies and City People's Council deputies, not electing ward-level People's Council deputies like other localities.
In addition to preparing the best and safest conditions to organize the election, Bach Long Vi special zone arranges full mobile ballot boxes to serve voters who cannot yet reach the shore to vote. On the morning of March 14, a working group of the special zone will go to the area where ships are anchored and fishing so that voters who are fishermen can vote, ensuring the best conditions for all voters to fully exercise their rights and civic obligations during the national festival.
According to Major Pham Xuan Nha - Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of Bach Long Vi Island Defense Battalion, the Battalion participated in voting at Election Team No. 2. During the election, the Battalion still strictly maintained the combat readiness and rotation regime so that all officers and soldiers on duty could exercise their civil rights, contributing to the overall success of the election.
