Choose the right technology
Mr. Le Hoang Anh - founder and General Director of EcoTruck Technology Joint Stock Company - said that his company soon invested in building a digital management system to control the entire business process and transport operation.
With a digital technology system, EcoTruck can coordinate nationwide transportation with only one personnel instead of 3-4 people as in the traditional model. The technology helps control costs, reduce losses, optimize vehicle performance and improve profit margins. In addition, the system also helps provide fast, accurate information and meet the requirements of data connection with customers - an increasingly popular trend in logistics.
On a larger scale, the digitization of operations also creates a source of practical data on transportation.
For Vietnamese businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, the big challenge is the ability to access, understand and keep up with the pace of technological development. The most important thing is efficiency: Technology must help increase revenue and reduce costs. Appropriate technology is technology that meets those goals" - Mr. Hoang Anh stated his opinion.
In fact, small and medium-sized enterprises are facing many problems, from personnel, capital to operating capacity. In which, capital may be a more easy problem to handle, while the biggest difficulty lies in the operating capacity of the enterprise itself.
Many businesses do not have a systematic operating process, do not know how to optimize operations. When deploying technology, they also do not have enough personnel to implement it. Because deploying technology is not simply installing software.
Especially in logistics and transportation, the application of technology requires businesses to change operating methods, and at the same time, personnel with the ability to deploy and put the system into practice are needed.
Digital transformation into a competitive advantage
In the logistics sector, the requirement for digital transformation is strongly driven by changes in the market and supply chains.
Mr. Ngo Khac Le - Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Logistics Services Business Association (VLA) - said that the digital transformation capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises, especially small-scale enterprises, is still limited due to many reasons, including financial difficulties, awareness and market.
However, the level of digital transformation in the logistics industry is increasingly being raised to meet practical needs and increase competitiveness.
If they do not quickly transform to keep up with the trend, Vietnamese businesses will find it difficult to participate in the links in the logistics service supply chain of the region and the world.
When not in the supply chain, businesses not only have difficulty expanding the market but also face disadvantages in competitiveness.
Digital transformation is not only for large businesses. Small and medium-sized enterprises can completely start from the jobs that best suit their scale and needs.
To promote this process, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a plan to implement the Project on digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the area, aiming to support businesses to gradually move from traditional models to digital models, prioritizing solutions that are fundamental and suitable to practical needs.
In 2026, the city strives to put into operation an online toolkit to assess the digital transformation readiness (DBI) for businesses throughout the area. Ho Chi Minh City also plans to survey, select and support the development of comprehensive digital transformation model models for about 200 typical businesses, thereby spreading experience and appropriate ways of doing things.
