On February 22, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee - directly inspected the search for victims in the drowning incident that occurred on February 21, at My Khe beach.
Previously, at about 3 pm on February 21, Tinh Khe Commune Police received a report of the incident in Co Luy village area. The three victims included Mr. Tran Ngoc Trieu and two children, Tran Ngoc Kim Ngan (13 years old), Tran Ngoc Gia Phat (10 years old), all residing in Dak Lak province.

Immediately after discovering the incident, local people promptly rescued Tran Ngoc Kim Ngan and took her to a medical facility for emergency treatment. Currently, the child's health has passed the critical stage and is being monitored and treated.
At about 3:50 pm on the same day, functional forces found the body of Tran Ngoc Gia Phat more than 100 meters from the accident area and handed it over to his family for funeral arrangements.
The remaining victim is Mr. Tran Ngoc Trieu (38 years old) who is still missing. Functional forces are actively coordinating and deploying many search plans.
After listening to a quick report on the situation of the incident, the search organization and the difficulties caused by weather, tides, complex currents and large waves, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang acknowledged the spirit of responsibility and timeliness of the rescue and relief forces and local authorities.
At the same time, he requested to continue to mobilize maximum means and personnel; closely coordinate between forces; ensure safety for officers and soldiers participating in the task; expand the search scope, determined to find the victims soon.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the locality to strengthen propaganda and warn people and tourists about the risk of unsafety when swimming in the sea; do not swim in dangerous areas; and comply with the instructions of functional forces.
At the same time, review and supplement warning signs, arrange on-duty forces to ensure safety for people and tourists when visiting and swimming in the My Khe beach area.
