Recently, in Ha Lam commune, Da Huoai district, Lam Dong province, the National Assembly Delegation of the province held a meeting with voters.
At the meeting, local voters presented many opinions, recommendations, and reflections on the thoughts and aspirations of the people of Da Huoai district in general and Ha Lam commune in particular to the National Assembly Delegation.
An issue that people are particularly concerned about is durian - the main crop of the district with a total area of nearly 11,000 hectares.
Ha Lam commune alone has more than 2,500 hectares, considered the "heart" of the durian region of Da Huoai. The product is mainly exported to the Chinese market.
However, in the context of China tightening regulations on pesticide residues, heavy metals and O-older, if not well controlled, the risk of being suspended or having the growing area code revoked is very high.
Therefore, voters proposed to soon establish a separate durian product quality inspection center in Da Huoai district. This is an urgent requirement in the context of the approaching durian harvest in 2025.
People in Da Huoai district hope that the National Assembly Delegation of the province will receive and recommend that central ministries, branches and the National Assembly soon consider establishing this center to serve export activities.
The Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Da Huoai District - Mr. Nguyen Quy My affirmed that the construction of a durian product quality assessment center is a legitimate need and aspiration of the local people.
He suggested that Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, central ministries, branches and the National Assembly pay attention and consider; at the same time, calling on durian growers to comply with production processes according to VietGAP standards, organic, and ensure safety for consumers.
On behalf of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province, National Assembly delegate Nguyen Van Hien received and acknowledged the opinions and recommendations of voters of Ha Lam commune and Da Huoai district.
He emphasized that most of the reflections demonstrate voters' dedication and responsibility for the development of the locality and the country.
