At 9:25 a.m. on September 5, Co To Border Guard Station received a report at coordinate 20°08'00"N-107°44'00"E, about 20 nautical miles southeast of Co To Island, on fishing boat QN 41283-TS owned by Mr. Le Huu Dien (born in 1973, residing in Zone 4, Co To Special Zone), with crew member Pham Van Thanh (born in 1978, from Quang Ngai) in an accident.
Immediately after receiving the information, the unit mobilized a 500 CV motorboat with 4 officers, soldiers and 1 doctor from the Co To Special Region Medical Center to organize the rescue.
At around 11am, the rescue boat approached the boat and conducted a health check for the victim.
After that, the working group took the victim to Bach Long Vi Island (Hai Phong City) and coordinated with Bach Long Vi Border Guard Station and local health workers for first aid.
At 11:45, the victim's health was temporarily stable. Rescue forces and the family continued to bring the victim to the mainland.
At 10:25 p.m. the same day, the victim was taken to Vung Duc port and transferred to Cam Pha General Hospital for emergency care. The victim's health has temporarily stabilized.
