At 9:15 a.m. on November 20, at Da Bach River (in Lien Khe Commune, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong City), the working group of Bach Dang Waterway Police Station, while on duty, discovered a person entangled in a rope underwater, being dragged behind the self-propelled ship with license plate HD 2628 traveling along Da Bach River from Hai Phong to Kinh Mon Commune, Hai Duong Province. The working group signaled the captain of ship HD 2628 to stop the vehicle and organized the rescue of the victim in the river to bring him safely to shore.
After the rescue, the police force learned that the victim Vu Dinh H (born in 1982, residing in Tien Dong village, Tu Ky commune, Hai Duong, crew member of ship HD 2628) was accidentally caught in the ship's rope while operating the rear bumper and fell into the river. During the fall, Vu Dinh H was tightly wrapped around the ship's rope and was dragged behind by the ship without the people on board knowing. Mr. H was stunned by the impact, drowned and had cramps.
The working group coordinated with the crew on the ship to provide first aid to Mr. Vu Dinh H. Currently, Mr. H's health is basically stable and he was taken to a medical facility for a health check.
