On May 9, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Dak Lak Provincial Police informed that the traffic police force had just promptly supported the extinguishing of a container truck fire that occurred on National Highway 26, contributing to ensuring traffic safety and limiting property damage.
Previously, on May 6, 2026, the Traffic Police Team of Road Traffic Police Team No. 2 was on patrol and control duty at Km133+200 National Highway 26 when they discovered a container truck suddenly catching fire.
Immediately after discovering the incident, the task force quickly mobilized all officers and soldiers to participate in firefighting, and at the same time used on-site fire fighting equipment to control the fire.
In just a short time, the fire was completely extinguished, preventing it from spreading to surrounding areas, contributing to minimizing property damage and ensuring safety for traffic participants on the route.
According to initial information, during traffic, the driver detected smoke rising from the rear of the car, so he immediately drove the vehicle to the side of the road, right in the area where the Traffic Police Team was on patrol and control duty.
The incident did not cause any casualties. However, at the time of the incident, there were many vehicles passing by, so there was a potential risk of traffic unsafety and fire spreading very high if not handled promptly.
Currently, the cause of the fire is being further verified and clarified by functional agencies.
