At about 9 am on May 9, fishing vessel BTh 82379TS was operating about 4 nautical miles southeast of La Gi port when it suddenly encountered big waves and was completely sunk.
According to initial information, the fishing vessel has a capacity of 18CV, 6.7m long, fishing, captained by Mr. B.V. T (born 1992). Previously, in the afternoon of May 8, the vessel departed from La Gi port to go to sea to exploit seafood.
By the morning of May 9, while operating at sea, the ship was completely sunk by large waves.

At the time of the incident, captain B.V. T was fortunately discovered and supported by a fisherman driving a motorized basket boat operating near the area to bring him ashore safely.
The incident did not cause any casualties but property damage was about 200 million VND.
After receiving information, Phuoc Loc Border Guard Station directed La Gi Border Guard Station to continue to grasp the situation, coordinate to verify and clarify the incident.
At the same time, notify vehicles operating near the incident area to proactively prevent collisions with sunken ships, ensuring safety when operating at sea.
