On April 28, the People's Council of Lai Chau province, term XV, 2021-2026, held the 28th Session (Special Session). At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council unanimously issued a Resolution approving the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units in Lai Chau province in 2025.
According to the project to reorganize and reorganize commune-level administrative units, Lai Chau province reduced from 106 commune-level administrative units (94 communes, 5 wards and 7 towns) to 38 commune-level administrative units (36 communes, 2 wards), a reduction of 64.15% of commune-level administrative units.
