On September 24, according to PV's investigation, Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision announcing an emergency situation for natural disasters for 2 inter-village roads in Bum Nua commune due to the risk of serious landslides after rain and floods.
Emergency situations are applied at Km 3+500 on the Xa Phin - Sin Chai inter-village road (section calculated from Xa Phin village suspension bridge) and Km 1+650 on the Khoang Then - Pa Ha route (section calculated from the intersection to Khoang Then, Pa Ha).
According to functional agencies, the impact of the rains and floods at the end of July has caused serious landslides of soil and rock in these two areas.
The landslide situation directly threatens traffic infrastructure, with a high risk of causing division, local congestion and threatening the lives of people and vehicles passing by.
Faced with the above developments, the Provincial People's Committee requested units to urgently implement urgent measures: clearing soil and rocks buried in the foundation, road surface and longitudinal drainage ditches; and at the same time assign forces to be on duty to closely monitor the diễn biến of the scene.
