Lam Dong issues Regulations on the operation of the Steering Committee against IUU fishing

Lam Dong - The Steering Committee for Anti-IUU fishing of Lam Dong province issued a Working Regulation to strengthen management and improve the effectiveness of enforcement of fisheries laws.

On October 9, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen - Head of the Steering Committee against Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing in Lam Dong province (Provincial Steering Committee against IUU fishing) signed a Decision attaching the Working Regulations of the Steering Committee.

Accordingly, the Steering Committee is responsible for organizing and directing the implementation of measures to combat IUU fishing according to the decision of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee.

The Head of the Steering Committee is fully responsible to the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; manage, assign, urge, reward and discipline according to authority.

The Deputy Head of the Standing Committee helps coordinate general activities, direct the development of plans, inspect and urge specialized agencies, directly in charge of propaganda work, management of fishing vessels, monitoring of VMS equipment, investment in fishing port infrastructure and synthesizing periodic reports.

Other Deputy Heads of the Committees (representing the Provincial Military and Police Command) directly directed the implementation of the task of combating IUU fishing within their scope.

The Steering Committee meets periodically at least once a quarter and can meet suddenly when necessary. Collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements will be proposed for commendation; on the contrary, violations will be handled according to the provisions of law and Party discipline.
