On September 22, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province said that it had issued an official dispatch on strengthening duty, information, and disaster reporting during the rainy and storm season.
Faced with complicated weather developments, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, and localities to maintain duty shifts, ensure smooth information flow, and be ready to respond to natural disasters.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Military Command to be on duty at switchboard 112, receiving information about incidents, natural disasters and requests for help from people.
The Military Command of commune level maintains on-duty forces for rescue and relief; and at the same time arranges forces and vehicles ready to support localities, especially evacuating and relocating people to safe places and rescuing when natural disasters occur.
The Provincial Police are required to be ready with forces and vehicles to participate in rescue and relief through switchboard 114, ensuring 24/24 hour connection between the Provincial Police and commune-level police.
The police force also proactively coordinates with forces in the area, develops coordination plans, and is ready to mobilize human resources, vehicles, and equipment to respond to and overcome the consequences of floods.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to maintain the duty regime, advise, direct, and manage the disaster prevention and control work of the Provincial Civil Defense Command at the Sub-Department of Irrigation and Water Resources via phone number 0263.3822451.
For the People's Committees of communes, wards and Phu Quy Special Zone, the province requests to maintain duty to be ready to respond to incidents and natural disasters in the area.
Localities must update the directory to serve disaster prevention and control; and at the same time widely disseminate the switchboard number, on-duty phone number and rescue directory for people to know and contact when necessary.
During the peak of the rainy and storm season, people are advised to proactively monitor weather information, limit entering areas at risk of landslides and flooding, and contact on-duty numbers and switchboards when incidents occur or need support.
