On May 6, at the conference on the socio-economic situation in April and tasks for May 2025, Mr. Tran Hong Thai - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee criticized the leaders of Di Linh and Duc Trong districts for the delay in budget allocation and site clearance, affecting the progress of the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway Project.
The Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway project has a total length of 73.6km, passing through these two districts, occupying most of the route.
The project was approved at the end of March 2025 under the form of public-private partnership (PPP), with a total investment of nearly VND18,000 billion, of which VND5,000 billion is for site clearance in the 2024-2025 period.
The Chairman of the province emphasized that, although the project has been approved for more than a month, Di Linh district has not yet implemented the budget allocation. He warned that if the situation did not improve in the coming time, the province would consider suspending the position of Chairman of Di Linh District People's Committee.
Similarly, Duc Trong district leaders were also criticized for similar delays. At the meeting, Mr. Tran Duc Cong - Chairman of Di Linh District People's Committee asked to learn from experience and committed to immediately implementing related tasks.
Mr. Le Nguyen Hoang - Chairman of Duc Trong District People's Committee said that he would accept the opinions and suggest that the project markers be set soon to carry out compensation and site clearance work.
Provincial Chairman Tran Hong Thai requested localities to enhance their sense of responsibility, not to loosen work or shirk responsibility. He emphasized: "We need to act for the common goal of developing Lam Dong, not for the reason of termism but for the task".
