Lam Dong - The Provincial People's Committee submits to the Government and the Ministry of Home Affairs a plan to establish 3 wards Duc Trong, Ham Thuan Nam and Cu Jut to meet the urban development orientation.

On August 27, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province sent a report to the Government and the Ministry of Home Affairs on the establishment of 3 wards including Duc Trong, Ham Thuan Nam and Cu Jut.

According to the submission, the establishment of wards in Lam Dong aims to concretize the urban development orientation according to planning, create conditions to complete infrastructure, improve management efficiency and promote socio-economic development.

All 3 localities are assessed to meet the standards of area, population, urban population ratio and socio-economic development.

Duc Trong ward has an area of more than 148km2, a population of nearly 89,000 people, and a urban population rate of 75.7%.

The locality has Lien Khuong International Airport, National Highway 20 and the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway project being implemented, creating a regional connectivity advantage.

Ham Thuan Nam ward has an area of more than 110km2, a population of more than 34,000 people, and a non-agricultural labor rate of 73.55%.

Located in the coastal area, on the North-South economic corridor, the locality is connected to Khanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City through National Highway 1 and the North-South railway.

The ward is oriented to develop processing industry, logistics, trade, services and tourism.

Meanwhile, Cu Jut ward has an area of more than 104km2, a population of more than 50,900 people, and non-agricultural labor accounts for 51.3%. This is the Northwest gateway area of the province, connecting with Dak Lak through National Highway 14.

Cu Jut is oriented to become a development center of the western sub-region, associated with processing industry and high-tech agriculture.

After the merger of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong from mid-2025, Lam Dong province has an area of more than 24,000km2, a population of nearly 3.9 million people, currently has 124 commune-level administrative units and special zones.
