On October 22, many workers and machinery were mobilized to construct a temporary road to serve the construction of the L3 bridge across the Lu River under the Ring Road 2.5 project, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters at the construction site, Mr. Le Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of Hoang Mai - Hanoi Construction Investment Company Limited (project enterprise) said that up to now, the work of moving underground and above-ground works (electricity, water, telecommunications) in the area at both ends of the bridge has been completed, and the site has been handed over to the contractor for the construction of bridge L3.

On Trinh Dinh Cuu Street, the contractor has completed the temporary road section. On Ha Ke Tan Street, the construction of a temporary road serving the construction of L3 Bridge is also being implemented, expected to be completed in the next few days.
"We will ask for permission from the Hanoi Department of Construction to divert traffic to serve the bridge construction. During the construction process, the contractor will organize traffic flow in accordance with regulations and issued licenses, ensuring safe and smooth travel for people in the area on this route" - Mr. Tung said.
Regarding the construction part, Mr. Tung said that the L3 bridge over the Lu river has completed the middle span. The contractor will continue to drill and fill piles, construct two bridge abutments and the remaining items.

According to Mr. Tung, the total volume of the route has reached about 70%. For the remaining volume, the investor is directing the contractor to mobilize maximum machinery and personnel to organize the construction in 3 shifts, 4 teams, committed to ensuring safety and quality, and completing the project in the first quarter of 2026.
In addition, the investor also requires the contractor to strictly implement safety measures in construction, regularly watering and washing the road surface to limit dust. Deep holes in the construction site are also required to be fenced off and warning signs are placed to ensure safety for people.

Mr. Le Thanh Tung assessed that the Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section of Ring Road 2.5 is an important link in the Hanoi urban transport network. When completed, the route will connect the southern area of the city with major traffic axes, thereby reducing the burden on Ring Road 2 and Ring Road 3, which are increasingly overloaded.
"When the route is opened to traffic in sync with the Kim Dong - Giai Phong underpass, it will also open up opportunities for new urban development in the southern area of the city" - Deputy Director of Hoang Mai - Hanoi Construction Investment Company Limited added.
Talking to reporters, many people in the area expressed their hope that the road will be completed soon, technically opened to traffic, making traffic and travel more convenient and directly promoting socio-economic development.
The project to build the Ring Road 2.5, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section (Hanoi) is invested in the form of a BT (build - transfer) contract with a length of about 1.3 km, with a total investment of more than 1,300 billion VND.
The project started in 2014 and was expected to be completed in 2017 but was behind schedule.
In 2020, the project was temporarily suspended when it had only reached about 40% of the workload. The reason is due to difficulties in site clearance and extension of BT contract appendices.
In May 2025, the basic difficulties and obstacles were resolved, and the project was officially restarted.
