On May 26, at Dinh Lap Martyrs' Cemetery, Dinh Lap commune, Lang Son province, the Provincial Steering Committee 515 organized the collection of biological samples, handed over and digitized samples of remains of unidentified martyrs to serve DNA testing.
The activity is part of the plan to implement "Operation 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains", with the goal of gradually returning names to martyrs who lack information, meeting the aspirations of relatives and families.
Accordingly, Lang Son is the first locality selected by the Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 1 to implement the process of taking samples, handing over and digitizing samples of remains of unidentified martyrs to draw experience before implementing throughout the Military Region.
At Dinh Lap cemetery - the resting place of 82 martyrs who sacrificed in the resistance wars to protect the Fatherland - delegates offered incense and flowers to commemorate before taking samples.
In this phase, functional forces took biological samples for 20 unidentified martyrs' graves.
The sampling process is implemented according to strict professional procedures, ensuring accuracy, safety and meeting the requirements for DNA testing.
