On November 13, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Viet Dung - Director of the Lao Cai Province No. 1 Construction Investment Project Management Board - said: "The Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Yen Bai Bridge Construction Research Board. This project must conduct an architectural competition according to the roadmap and regulations".
According to Mr. Dung, the scale of the Yen Bai bridge project is designed with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, designed with a load capacity of HL93 with a length of 350 meters, designed with a width of Yen Bai bridge to ensure 4-6 lanes. The total estimated investment capital is 650 billion VND from the Lao Cai provincial budget.
The project will be implemented in 2026 to connect wards on both banks of the Red River, complete the transportation system of Lao Cai province, create conditions for socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security in the province and improve the material and spiritual life of people in the project area.
The Director of Lao Cai Province's No. 1 Construction Investment Project Management Board added that Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee allows units to conduct pre-feasibility study reports for group A projects and report on investment policy proposals for group B and group C projects.
The units assigned to prepare a pre-feasibility study report for group A projects, and a report proposing investment policies for group B and group C projects are responsible for reviewing the scale.
The total investment of the project is based on compliance with technical standards, norms, practical conditions, ensuring savings, promoting investment efficiency and organizing implementation in accordance with current regulations.
Currently, Yen Bai Bridge has been approved by Lao Cai province for vehicles with cars with 7 seats or less, motorbikes and pedestrians to cross the bridge.
