At the Nuoc Mat village resettlement area, Au Lau ward, the construction atmosphere in mid-September was urgent.
Internal roads have been formed, drainage ditches are being completed, workers and machinery are continuously working to bring the project to completion on schedule.
This is one of the items under the project of compensation, support, resettlement and relocation of technical infrastructure to serve the construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line, section passing through Lao Cai province.
The resettlement area has an area of 3.8ha, with a total investment of more than 22 billion VND, starting construction in August 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Huy - Director of Linh Huy Hoang Co., Ltd., Lao Cai province - the construction unit of the resettlement area shared: "Currently, the project has completed about 85% of the volume, only the road surface paving and sidewalk paving items are left.
It is expected that in about 1 month, it will be handed over to the locality to organize land subdivision and arrangement for 71 households.
Similarly, at Tan Viet resettlement area, Quy Mong commune, dozens of vehicles were also mobilized to race against time.
The resettlement area is 3.2ha wide, with a total investment of more than 16 billion VND, expected to be allocated to 29 households affected by the railway project.

Mr. Phan Phu Xuyen - Commander of Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company No. 9 - said: "Up to now, the project has reached about 80% of the volume.
Taking advantage of favorable weather, the company organizes overtime, striving to complete it in October 2026 so that people can build houses and move to new places.
The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project is about 391km long in the main line and 28km in the branch line, passing through 6 provinces and cities, with a preliminary total investment of about 203,000 billion VND (equivalent to 8.37 billion USD).

The project is implemented in 2 phases. The section passing through Lao Cai is about 143.68km long, passing through 12 communes and wards with 9 stations.
The whole province is expected to arrange 38 resettlement areas to serve the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.
To date, 28 zones have been deployed; of which 3 zones have been completed, 3 zones use available land funds and 22 zones are under construction. The remaining 10 zones are carrying out investment preparation procedures.

At the meeting of the Steering Committee for Site Clearance of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway Project on September 18, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that this is a key national project, of strategic significance and great impact on socio-economic development.
Therefore, site clearance work must be identified as an important political task, requiring the synchronous and drastic involvement of the entire political system.
According to the set schedule, additional resettlement areas and adjusted scale resettlement areas must be completed before April 30, 2027. Undergoing resettlement areas must be completed before March 30, 2027.

For projects to level ground and build technical infrastructure to serve the relocation of production facilities in Dong Pho Moi, Son Man - Van Hoa, the goal is to complete them by the end of this year.
For interspersed land areas, safety gaps between railway lines or in safety corridors that are no longer suitable for production and living, Lao Cai province requests a review to have appropriate land recovery and clearance plans, ensuring long-term safety for the project and people's lives.
