On September 10, at Residential Group 44, the Steering Committee for Civil Defense Exercises of Cam Duong Ward organized a drill to respond to flash floods, landslides and landslides on a residential cluster scale in 2026.
The drill has the participation of Party committees, residential groups, police, militia and self-defense forces and people of Residential Groups 44, 45, including two parts: mechanism drill and live-fire drill.
According to the simulated situation, prolonged heavy rain caused the water level of rivers and streams to rise, threatening residential areas.
Local forces quickly issued warnings, cordoned off dangerous areas, evacuated people, protected property and mobilized rescue vehicles.
Practical forces from receiving and processing information, organizing command to evacuating people, rescuing and overcoming consequences according to the "4 on-the-spot" motto.
Ms. Tran Thi Chung, Head of Residential Group 44, said that the drill helps people be more proactive when there are natural disasters.
The most important thing is that people must be calm, proactively move people and property to safe places, and coordinate with forces to handle them promptly," Ms. Chung said.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Team Leader of Residential Group 45, the practice helps grassroots forces understand the tasks, from approaching dangerous areas, supporting evacuation to coordinating rescue and relief.
Through the drill, Cam Duong ward reviewed the command and coordination capabilities between forces and supplemented response plans suitable to the actual situation of the area. This is also an opportunity for people to improve their skills in preventing and minimizing damage when natural disasters occur.
The Steering Committee requests residential groups to regularly grasp weather conditions, review areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides; maintain forces, vehicles and necessities according to the "4 on-site" motto.
The drill completed the entire content and was evaluated by the Steering Committee as excellent. On this occasion, 2 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements were commended and rewarded.

On the morning of September 10, the Lao Cai meteorological agency warned of the risk of flash floods, landslides, and subsidence in many areas after moderate to heavy rain, with very heavy rain in some places in the past 24 hours.
In the past 6 hours, many places recorded heavy rain, such as Kien Thanh 60mm, Co Phuc 53.8mm, Phuc Loi 52.4mm, Bao Ai 46.6mm.
Soil moisture in some areas is over 70%, causing the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides of hillsides, taluys and land subsidence to increase.
The warning is applied in key areas of 21 communes and wards, including Cam Duong ward, along with Muong Lai, Ban Ho, Bao Ai, Bao Ha, Bao Thang, Bao Yen, Dong Cuong, Gia Phu, Hop Thanh, Lam Thuong, Luc Yen, Muong Bo, Nam Chay, Phuc Loi, Quy Mong, Tan Linh, Tang Loong, Tran Yen, Vo Lao and Xuan Quang communes.
Authorities and people need to closely monitor weather developments, check points at risk of landslides, and proactively relocate people and property when abnormal signs appear.
