Lao Cai City has suspended 45 karaoke businesses that do not meet fire safety requirements.

On January 23, Lao Cai City Police informed that, according to statistics, there are currently 50 karaoke establishments in the city, of which only 5 establishments ensure fire prevention and fighting safety conditions, the remaining 45 establishments do not ensure fire prevention and fighting safety conditions.

According to Lao Cai Police, among the 45 establishments above, there are many households operating karaoke "disguised" or "transformed" karaoke businesses that were previously unqualified karaoke businesses that have stopped operating or similar types (Bar, Pub, Lounge, singing for each other, etc.) without being granted a business license by competent authorities in Lao Cai city in 2024.

Therefore, the Working Group of Lao Cai City Police has conducted mobile inspections and patrols at routes, locations, and areas with establishments and households that pose a potential risk of operating "underground", illegal, and disguised karaoke businesses.

Through inspection, most of the karaoke establishments in Lao Cai city that were suspended and temporarily suspended were built a long time ago and therefore do not meet the fire prevention and fighting requirements of the Ministry of Public Security.

Currently, these facilities have voluntarily stopped operations, returned their certificates of eligibility for security and order, and posted a notice "The facility has stopped operations due to failure to ensure fire safety."
