At the meeting, leaders of the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Finance said that in the first 2 months of 2026, the socio-economic situation of the province continued to be stable, and many targets achieved positive results.
It is estimated that GRDP in the first quarter of 2026 will reach about 34, 162 billion VND, with a growth rate of about 9% compared to the same period. In which, the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector increased by about 5%; industry - construction increased by over 10%; services increased by about 9.4%.
Total state budget revenue in the area reached 3, 481 billion VND, an increase of 23% compared to the same period; total development investment capital reached 11,670 billion VND.
The service sector continued to develop stably. The whole province welcomed 2.67 million visitors, with total revenue from tourism activities reaching 8,644 billion VND.

Representatives of the Provincial Statistics Office also reported on the implementation of the Q1 growth target and proposed a number of solutions to strive to bring the GRDP growth rate in Q1 to over 10% as required by the Provincial People's Committee.
At the meeting, leaders of departments and sectors focused on discussing and assessing difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing the growth scenario; and at the same time proposed solutions to promote industrial production, accelerate the progress of investment projects, develop trade, services, tourism and improve the value of agricultural production.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee - emphasized: Through initial assessment, the GRDP growth rate in the first quarter of the province is estimated to reach about 9%.
To ensure the completion of the growth target according to the set scenario, levels and sectors need to focus on drastically implementing tasks and solutions to strive to bring the GRDP growth rate in the first quarter to over 10%.

Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, and localities to closely follow the tasks according to the Resolution of the Government, the Provincial Party Committee and the province's programs and plans; focus on promoting agricultural production development in the direction of forming concentrated production areas, applying high technology; accelerating the progress of industrial and construction projects; developing trade, services and tourism, creating momentum for economic growth.
Along with that, it is necessary to focus on removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses; accelerate the progress of key projects and works; proactively review the growth targets of each industry and each field, and promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee to have appropriate direction and administration solutions.
