The conference was held in a direct combined online format at 8 locations in communes and wards of electoral unit No. 1 of Lao Cai province, with the participation of more than 1,200 delegates and voters.
Attending the voter meeting were Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Duong Quoc Huy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Hoang Giang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and candidates for the 16th National Assembly.
At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Lao Cai province read a summary biography of the candidates for the 16th National Assembly in constituency No. 1.

After that, each candidate presents their draft action program if trusted by voters to be elected as a National Assembly deputy.
Representing the candidates for the 16th National Assembly in the No. 1 constituency of Lao Cai province, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Deputy Prime Minister - expressed her emotion when returning to her hometown to participate in the election, being a candidate representing the voice and aspirations of the majority of people in the area.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that during the term of the 15th National Assembly, she participated in the election in Yen Bai, now Lao Cai province, and always strived to fulfill her responsibilities to the Party, the State, as well as the trust of the people.
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra expressed her opinion: "If I am continued to be elected here, the top task is to do it correctly, clearly, and best of all, as a National Assembly deputy for the people, close to the people, close to the people.
Willing to share and understand the legitimate thoughts of the people, to propose to competent authorities, advise the government to have appropriate and best policies to help the homeland become increasingly rich and strong".


At the conference, voters also raised a number of opinions and recommendations sent to candidates if elected as National Assembly deputies of the 16th term. In which, focusing on some main contents such as salary policies, cutting and simplifying administrative procedures at the grassroots level, social security policies...
Representatives of voters in Tran Yen commune proposed that candidates after being elected should soon propose to the Central Government to prioritize allocating capital sources for the locality to implement the Red River flood control project. According to voters, the project implementation will contribute to solving the prolonged flooding situation for many years, helping people stabilize their lives and feel secure in developing the economy.
Answering voters' opinions, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Deputy Prime Minister - asked to receive voters' comments and recommendations and emphasized that those opinions are very correct and accurate, suitable for the locality.


The Deputy Prime Minister also requested local authorities to carefully study the Red River water treatment project in the direction of both disaster prevention and adaptation to development conditions in the new period.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this is a very important and necessary project in the current context. When implemented, it needs to be associated with creating urban landscapes, forming entertainment and tourism spaces, and promoting cultural values along the Red River, contributing to creating highlights for Lao Cai province.
The province needs to urgently research and calculate resources between localities and the Central Government, and prioritize allocating resources for the project. The development of specific projects needs to be carried out quickly to be implemented soon in the near future," Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra emphasized.
