According to the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, there are currently 207 relics managed in the area, including 1 special national relic and 34 national-level relics.
Many localities have developed management regulations suitable to reality, contributing to ensuring that donation and sponsorship revenues are managed publicly, effectively serving the work of restoring and embellishing relics and organizing cultural and festival activities.
However, through inspection, it was found that the management and collection - spending of donation money at some relics still exist, such as incomplete reported data, insufficient inventory and supervision; the situation of placing donation money in the wrong places, affecting the aesthetics and solemnity of relics.

To overcome this situation, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requests the chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and wards and the heads of relic management boards to be directly responsible for managing relics, strengthening control of donation collection and spending activities.
Management must be carried out publicly and transparently according to regulations; open accounting books, fully account for revenues and expenditures and absolutely not allow the situation of off-book revenue and expenditure to occur.
Relics must also open accounts at the State Treasury or commercial banks to manage donation funds; strictly prohibit transferring donation funds to personal accounts in any form.

For relics with a large number of visitors and high revenue, localities are required to urgently install surveillance camera systems in the area of receiving and counting donation money; and at the same time strengthen security and order, environmental sanitation and fire and explosion prevention.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to guide localities to implement financial management regimes, settle and finalize donation funds in accordance with regulations; develop plans for inspection and supervision of relics with large revenue sources.
The Provincial Police are also assigned to direct functional forces to coordinate with localities to ensure security and order at relics; prevent, detect and handle acts of theft, appropriation of donation money or taking advantage of religious activities for personal gain.
