On August 22, the leader of the People's Committee of Ward 10, Da Lat city, Lam Dong province said that the Police Department had intervened and handled the pet torture case that occurred in the Lam Vien Square area and Cau Duc alley.
Accordingly, Ward 10 Police verified the identity, offered a job, and handled animal cruelty according to regulations.
Through the investigation process, Ward 10 Police invited TTQ (13 years old, residing in Da Lat city) and his guardian, Q's mother, to the Police Department to work on the act of beating and torturing him. Alaskan dogs appear in the clip.
At the police station, Q declared that he knew LSL (28 years old, residing in Da Lat city) who specializes in selling pet dog cages to take photos with tourists. Mr. L rented an empty pig barn at Cau Duc to keep dogs.
On July 15, Mr. L bought a red-brown Alaskan dog and named it Bon. Mr. L assigned Q to take care of this Alaskan dog for business purposes for customers to take photos.
On July 20, while holding a dog for a customer to take photos at Lam Vien Square, the dog Bon bit his hand, so Q took him back to the location in Cau Duc alley.
Here, Q continued to be bitten by Bon so he used a plastic water pipe to hit the dog. On August 1, Q returned the dog to Mr. L.
At the police station, Q admitted that the act of beating pets was wrong and pledged not to do it again.
Because he was not old enough to punish administrative violations and Q's mother also had a commitment to manage and educate her child, the police only made a record of the administrative violation to deter and educate the subject not to repeat the crime.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on August 20, 3 videos appeared on Facebook social network recording the scene of an Alaska breed dog being brutally abused by its owner, causing public outrage.
This is a pet dog that is often taken by young men to famous locations in Da Lat city for tourists to take photos for money.
Many people who watched the videos were very upset with animal abuse and asked the authorities to take action.
