On December 10, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province directed the implementation of natural disaster prevention, control and response work in the last months of 2024.
Khanh Hoa province requires localities to draw on experience in responding to natural disasters in previous years and recent storms and floods to update and specify response plans for types of natural disasters that frequently occur in the area such as heavy rains and floods, strong storms, super storms, landslides, flash floods, etc.
In the last months of the year, localities need to prepare human resources, review materials, vehicles, equipment, and necessities according to the 4-on-the-spot motto to proactively support, respond, and rescue when natural disasters occur.
Khanh Hoa province also directed the People's Committees of communes in the downstream areas of the reservoir to coordinate with Khanh Hoa Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited to develop and sign regulations on coordination in providing information and operating flood reception and discharge to minimize damage, as well as proactively respond to natural disasters, ensuring the operation and regulation of reservoirs while ensuring the safety of the works and the safety of the downstream areas.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinates with relevant departments and localities to inspect, review and advise the province to install camera systems at key and dangerous locations; build a flood warning system on Cai Nha Trang River.
Coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to direct hydropower reservoir management units to monitor weather developments and natural disasters in the coming time to proactively calculate the amount of incoming water, operate and regulate flood discharge appropriately to ensure water storage for production, safety of works and prevention of flooding in downstream areas. Coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant localities and units to review and advise the Provincial People's Committee to amend and promulgate inter-reservoir operation procedures in the province.
