Survey, prepare feasibility study report for phase 2
On July 20, according to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), implementing the decision of the Ministry of Construction, ACV has officially deployed the role of investor in phase 2.
Currently, ACV is focusing on coordinating with consulting units to implement detailed planning for the project on a total area of 5,000ha and surveying and preparing feasibility study reports for phase 2.

The Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh airport) project was approved for investment policy by the National Assembly in Resolution No. 94/2015/QH13 dated June 25, 2015.
The goal of the project is to build Long Thanh International Airport to reach level 4F according to the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), becoming an important international airport of the country, towards becoming one of the regional air transshipment hubs.
The investment scale aims to achieve a capacity of 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of goods/year.
The estimate for the entire project is 336,630 billion VND (equivalent to 16.03 billion USD, according to the 2014 price level), divided into 3 phases. In which, phase 1 has a total investment of 114,450 billion VND (equivalent to 5.45 billion USD), including investment in building 1 runway, 1 passenger terminal and synchronous auxiliary items, with a capacity of 25 million passengers/year and 1.2 million tons of cargo/year; the completion and commissioning deadline is no later than 2025.
During the implementation process, the Long Thanh airport phase 1 project has been adjusted with 2 runways; adjusting the completion and commissioning deadline from 2025 to no later than December 31, 2026.
Long Thanh Airport has a shortage of 1,500 - 2,000 workers
