On June 25, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Hue City coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to organize excavations and take samples of remains of unidentified martyrs at Loc Tien Martyrs' Cemetery, Chan May - Lang Co commune to serve DNA testing.
Before deploying the sampling, representatives of the Steering Committee, Hue City Military Command and local leaders offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Immediately after the memorial ceremony, specialized forces proceeded to excavate and take biological samples for the graves of martyrs whose information had not been identified. The implementation process was carried out strictly, scientifically, ensuring safety and maintaining solemnity.
The entire tomb sampled is digitized, fully updated information into the database system to serve the management, storage and DNA testing.
According to the Steering Committee, there are currently 4 martyrs' cemeteries in Chan May - Lang Co commune. In this phase, biological sample collection is being implemented at 3 cemeteries including Loc Tien, Loc Vinh and Lang Co, with a total of 155 graves of martyrs whose identities have not been identified.
Taking biological samples for DNA testing is considered an important solution to gradually identify missing information martyrs, meet the aspirations of relatives and express the nation's "When drinking water, remember the source" morality.
After completion, biological samples are counted, compared, sealed and handed over according to the correct procedures. Related documents are digitized and fully stored to serve the work of identifying martyrs in the coming time.
