As recently as early morning of September 19, at km 191 of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway, Phuong Trang passenger bus hit the back of a passenger bus that was stopped in the lane near the guardrail to fix the problem, in the same direction ahead. The collision killed 2 passengers on the spot, 3 were injured.
Before that, on the evening of September 8, at km 219 of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway, a truck crashed into the back of another truck in the same direction that was turning from the emergency stop strip to the middle of the road. The collision killed the assistant driver.
Early morning of August 7, at km 231 of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, a truck carrying oranges crashed into two tractor-trailers traveling in the same direction ahead. On the evening of July 5, at km 200 of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, a sleeper bus crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction ahead, killing the assistant driver.
These are typical recent accidents on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway, where the accident occurred without street lights.
There are also cases of stopping cars on the road to go to the toilet and there are also cases of stopping cars and climbing over the median strip to enter coffee shops along the highway fence.

According to Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 of Department 6, Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security, when encountering an incident on the highway, drivers should pay attention, turn on the turn signal, and try to slowly move the vehicle from the roadway lane to the right side of the road or the emergency lane.

Accordingly, it is recommended that the Ministry of Transport continue to pay attention to and direct the resolution and overcoming of shortcomings on the two expressways Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay: Prioritize the early operation of the lighting system at intersections.
Speed up the investment and construction of Rest Stops; the project to build a traffic surveillance camera system and handle violations of traffic safety and order on the two expressways. At the same time, pay attention to investing in continuous emergency lanes along both sides of the expressway.
