The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just approved the investment policy for two pedestrian bridges across Ton Duc Thang Street, combined with the renovation of the B and C - Ba Son wharf bridges in the Bach Dang wharf park area, Saigon Ward.
The two pedestrian bridges will be built at the Nguyen Hue - Ton Duc Thang intersection (in front of Majestic Saigon Hotel) and the Thai Van Lung - Ton Duc Thang intersection (near The Landmark building).

At the location connecting Nguyen Hue walking street with Bach Dang wharf, the bridge is designed with a system of steps, spiral stairs and elevators arranged on both sides, creating favorable conditions for all users.
In addition to the railings according to the traditional design, there is a curved steel arch on top of the bridge, creating an architectural highlight. The Nguyen Hue bridgehead is arranged on the sidewalk, including two branches of the stairs going up and down in each direction.

Meanwhile, the pedestrian bridge at the Thai Van Lung - Ton Duc Thang intersection is designed with a grid arch, mainly in green, with a modern style.
Ho Chi Minh City is also studying the renovation of Thai Van Lung Street into a space bearing the imprint of traffic culture and urban civilization, aiming to form a model street in the central area.
Both ends of the bridge are equipped with steps and elevators, ensuring harmony with the surrounding landscape.

The investor representative said that the two pedestrian bridges not only serve travel needs but also contribute to creating architectural highlights for the central area along the river.
The steel bridge structure is pre-processed at the factory and then transported to installation, helping to shorten construction time and minimize the occupation of Ton Duc Thang Street.
The total estimated investment is about 50 billion VND, fully financed by the investor under the form of a BT (build - transfer) contract, not using the state budget. The two pedestrian bridges are expected to be completed and put into use before April 30, 2026.
