On the afternoon of September 1, at the western gateway, the number of vehicles from the western provinces pouring into the city began to increase, but traffic remained stable, without congestion. Many people proactively returned to the city early to avoid the peak on the afternoon of September 2.
On Le Kha Phieu Street, through Tan Nhut Commune, the flow of motorbikes, cars and passenger cars continuously poured in, only causing local congestion at intersections and red light stops.

Some families take advantage of leaving their hometown in the afternoon to have time to rest before going to work and back to school.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hau (from Can Tho) said that his family returned to their hometown on the evening of August 29. "Today, take advantage of riding a motorbike to Ho Chi Minh City early to avoid traffic jams tomorrow, the road is crowded, traveling will be tiring, especially for children," said Mr. Hau.
Similarly, Ms. Tran Thi Mai (Binh Dong commune, Ho Chi Minh City) said that the whole family went to Dong Thap for a holiday, today they decided to return to Ho Chi Minh City earlier than expected.
"I rode a motorbike, most afraid of crowding on the national highway. Seeing friends advising me to go a day earlier, I also arranged to return to the city from this afternoon, the road is still crowded but not congested, and traveling is convenient," Ms. Mai shared.

According to the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, after the 4-day September holiday, the traffic volume from neighboring provinces and cities returning to Ho Chi Minh City to work and study is expected to increase dramatically, especially on national highways and expressways connecting the East - Southwest region.
In addition, the city is currently implementing many projects on the road under exploitation such as the Binh Trieu 1 bridge area on National Highway 13. Tan Van intersection (Tan Van - Nhon Trach section) under the Ring Road 3 Project; An Phu intersection; My Thuy intersection... greatly affecting people's traffic activities through these areas.

To limit prolonged congestion and ensure a safe and smooth journey back to Ho Chi Minh City, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police recommends that people proactively choose a suitable departure time frame and refer to alternative routes.
