Dak Lak - The number of deaths, missing people and injuries due to floods in the area continues to increase due to complicated and unpredictable floods.

On the afternoon of November 22, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee reported a summary of the flood situation and response work in the area.

By 3:00 p.m. the same day, the whole province recorded 44 deaths, 8 missing people and 2 injured people; the data is continuing to be updated.

Property damage was particularly large, about 150,000 houses were submerged in water; many infrastructure were damaged; 3.2 million livestock and poultry died; about 127,000 aquaculture cages and 1,000 hectares of brackish water shrimp and molluscs were swept away.

Floods also damaged more than 63,000 hectares of short-term crops and 19,000 hectares of perennial trees; many landslides, traffic congestion; power and telecommunications systems were severely damaged. The total preliminary damage is nearly 5,330 billion VND, not including assets in each household.

Up to now, about 12,500 people and thousands of vehicles from the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security and local forces have been mobilized to the maximum to rescue and save in deeply flooded areas.

On November 22, Major General Phan Thanh Tam - Director of Dak Lak Provincial Police - directly visited and encouraged the forces on duty and people suffering heavy losses in Son Hoa, Tay Hoa, Son Thanh and Hoa Thinh communes.

Major General Phan Thanh Tam inspected the field, praising the spirit of initiative and responsibility of officers and soldiers who are not afraid of danger. They are always present in the most difficult places to support the people.

Major General Phan Thanh Tam requested the working groups to continue supporting food, drinking water and helping people soon stabilize their lives after the flood.
