On the morning of September 10, information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting showed that the flood situation on the Thao River in Lao Cai city is slowly decreasing, while in Bao Ha, Yen Bai it is rising.
Floods on Lo River (Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho), Cau River (Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh), Thuong River (Bac Giang), Thai Binh River (Hai Duong), Red River (Hanoi), Hoang Long River (Ninh Binh) are rising, Luc Nam River (Bac Giang) is slowly receding.
At 7:00 a.m. the same day, the Thao River flood in Yen Bai was at 35.32m, 3.32m above BĐ3, 1.1m above the historical flood level in 1968 (34.42m).
On Cau River at Dap Cau 6.12m, below BĐ3 0.18m, on Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong 6.65m, above BĐ3 0.35m, on Luc Nam River at Luc Nam 6.53m, above BĐ3 0.23m.
On the Lo River in Tuyen Quang 26.02m, above BĐ3 0.02m; at Vu Quang 1881, above BĐ1 0.51m. On the Hoang Long River in Ben De 3.60m, above BĐ2 0.10m. On the Thai Binh River in Pha Lai 5.07m, above BĐ2 0.07m. On the Red River in Hanoi 9.02m, below BĐ1 0.48m.
In the next 12 hours, the flood on Thao River in Lao Cai will continue to decrease; in Bao Ha, it will change slowly; in Yen Bai, it will continue to rise and remain above historical flood levels; in Phu Tho, it will reach levels above BĐ1.
Floods on Lo and Cau rivers continue to rise to level 3; Thuong river changes slowly to above level 3. Floods on Luc Nam river recede slowly but remain above level 3. Floods on Thai Binh river continue to rise above level 2. Floods on Hoang Long river continue to rise above level 2. Floods on Red river in Hanoi continue to rise rapidly to level 1.
In the next 12 - 24 hours, the flood on Thao River in Lao Cai will continue to decrease; in Bao Ha it will decrease slowly; in Yen Bai it will change slowly and remain above the historical flood level; in Phu Tho it will be above level 1.
Floods on the Lo, Thuong and Cau rivers are changing slowly and remaining at level 3. Floods on the Luc Nam River continue to fall below level 3. Floods on the Thai Binh River continue to rise to level 3. Floods on the Hoang Long River continue to reach level 3 and floods on the Red River in Hanoi continue to rise rapidly to level 2.
Warning of high risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers in the provinces of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Hoa Binh, flash floods and landslides on steep slopes in mountainous areas of the North.
According to the Lao Dong Newspaper's reporters, heavy rain caused the Red River to rise, overflowing its banks, flooding many streets in Yen Bai City. At the same time, it caused flooding in low-lying areas of the districts: Van Chan, Nghia Lo town, Luc Yen, Van Yen, Tran Yen, Yen Binh, Yen Bai City.
In Thai Nguyen, the rising flood waters of the Cau River also submerged thousands of houses and crops in Thai Nguyen City and many districts, cutting off traffic.
In Lao Cai, many roads and residential areas of Lao Cai city were flooded, affecting people's property.
