On June 5, the beach area of Ho Tram commune (HCMC) was suddenly surrounded by a large amount of water hyacinth and garbage surrounding the beaches. In many places, a large amount of water hyacinth forms a "green line" close to the water's edge along the beach. At the same time, a large amount is still floating on the water surface preparing to drift ashore.
Recorded on a beach section of about 8km, from the coastal area of Loc An to the public beach area of Ho Tram, most are covered with water hyacinth. In which, the area near the Ho Tram sea viewing bridge has the largest amount of water hyacinth both on the sandy beach and the sea surface.
Mr. Hoang (a clam raker in the Ho Tram area) said: "This is the first time Ho Tram has been surrounded by water hyacinths like this. In previous years, there were very few. These water hyacinths only drifted ashore in the early morning of June 5th, because they had not yet appeared last night.

The large amount of water hyacinth drifting into the beach also surprised and surprised resort tourists. "I have been here for a few days, last night walking on the beach with my family still saw the beach clean. This morning when I went down to the beach after breakfast, I was surprised to see water hyacinth overflowing," said Mr. Son (born in 1982, tourist from Ho Chi Minh City).
Mr. Huynh Phi Khanh - Chairman of Ho Tram Commune People's Committee - said that at about 8 am on June 5, local authorities grasped information that water hyacinth and ocean waste drifted to the beach. Therefore, the locality mobilized environmental sanitation forces, human resources and motorized vehicles to clean up the beach. At the same time, mobilized additional armed forces stationed in the area, militia and self-defense forces and businesses to support the collection and transportation of waste to the gathering point for treatment according to procedures.
