According to Lao Dong at around 10:30 p.m. on July 22, firefighters and rescue workers (Ho Chi Minh City Police) were still actively controlling the fire. They approached from many sides to spray water to extinguish the fire. However, due to the strong winds, the fire broke out when it encountered the wind, making it difficult to put out the fire.


By nearly 11pm, the fire was basically uncontrolled. Firefighters are still trying to spray water to cool down to prevent the fire from breaking out again.



"The fire was so big, the explosion was really scary. Firefighters tried to put out the fire for more than 3 hours," said a resident.



According to witnesses, at around 7pm on July 22, they discovered a fire breaking out from a scrap workshop in Ba Diem commune. Due to the flammable materials, the fire broke out fiercely and spread to some nearby rooms. People nearby tried to put out the fire on the spot but failed.
According to Lao Dong at the scene, the fire broke out fiercely, with a column of smoke tens of meters high. People inside the fire area were frightened and tried to run outside.

After receiving the report, the fire prevention and fighting and rescue forces (Ho Chi Minh City Police) dispatched many fire trucks and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.
The cause and damage of the fire have not yet been announced.
