On the morning of November 22, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Thong, Commander of the Defense Command of Region 3 - Bao Lam, said that the unit's officers and soldiers had coordinated with relevant forces to promptly take a 5-month-old child with a cough and high fever out of the floodwaters to go to the emergency room.

According to Mr. Thong, late on November 21, due to the large volume of water released by hydropower plants in the upstream of the Dong Nai River, the water in Cat Tien 2 commune rose rapidly.
The incident caused local flooding and isolated many areas, especially the 3 villages where the child's family lived.
Upon receiving the urgent news, the Defense Command of Region 3 - Bao Lam coordinated with the militia of the Military Command of Cat Tien 2 Commune and officers and soldiers of the 657 Transport Brigade (Department of Logistics - Engineering of Military Region 7).

After that, the forces quickly used canoes and specialized vehicles to approach the deeply flooded area, taking the child and his parents out of the isolated area.
As soon as he arrived at the safe place, the local health department coordinated with the commune authorities to support taking the child to the hospital for timely examination and treatment. The child's health is now basically stable.
