On the morning of September 26, Mr. Bui Dinh Lam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Hai Commune (Thach Ha District) - said that 9 months have passed since the People's Committee of Thach Hai Commune asked for the opinion of superiors to handle the strange "object" that drifted ashore in Thach Hai.
However, the object is still lying on the beach with no solution yet.
In January 2024, local people discovered a strange blue cylindrical iron block drifting ashore in Thuong Hai village (Thach Hai commune).
After inspection, authorities determined that the iron block inside was hollow, welded at both ends, about 20 meters long, weighing 10 tons, and about 0.7 meters in diameter. Some local fishermen said this could be a drilling rig offshore.
To find a way to handle that object, the People's Committee of Thach Ha district has just sent a document to the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to ask for advice on how to handle it.
Thach Ha district police have also informed relevant units and localities to identify the owner.
However, up to now, the authorities have not yet determined the owner, function, or origin of this object.
