After the 15% pension and social insurance allowance increase adjustment from July 1, 2024, the Government continues to request the implementation of a new pension adjustment in March 2026 according to Official Dispatch No. 38/TTg-QHĐP.
According to the provisions of Decree 75/2024/ND-CP, from July 1, 2024, pensions, social insurance allowances and monthly allowances will be adjusted to increase by 15% compared to the level enjoyed in June 2024 for subjects currently enjoying the regime.
In addition to the 15% increase, the Government also has an additional policy for people with low benefit levels. Specifically, after adjustment, if the pension level is still below 3.5 million VND/month, it will continue to be increased.
In which:
People with a benefit level below 3.2 million VND/month are given an additional increase of 300,000 VND/person/month.
People with a benefit level from 3.2 million VND to under 3.5 million VND/month are adjusted to increase to 3.5 million VND/month.
This regulation applies to cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces who retired before 1995 and are eligible for pensions and allowances according to regulations.
After the adjustment, the new pension and allowance levels will become the basis for calculating for subsequent adjustments.
Regarding the next adjustment phase, in the Appendix issued together with Official Dispatch 38/TTg-QHĐP in 2026, the Prime Minister has assigned the task of implementing a number of contents according to the resolutions of the National Assembly at the 10th Session, 15th National Assembly.
Accordingly, in March 2026, the Government requested relevant ministries and sectors to implement the adjustment of the base salary, pensions and some types of allowances in the spirit of Resolution 265/2025/QH15 and Conclusion 206-KL/TW in 2025.
The adjustment content not only includes pensions and social insurance allowances, but also relates to monthly allowances, preferential allowances for people with meritorious services, social allowances and social pension allowances.
Thus, after the 15% pension increase from 2024, the Government has requested to implement the next adjustment in March 2026. The Ministry of Home Affairs is assigned to take the lead in implementing and coordinating with relevant agencies to develop a specific adjustment plan.
