As the election day approaches, in the boat anchorage area in Cua Sot (Loc Ha commune), more offshore fishing boats, returning to anchor for many days, then proactively going out to sea shorter, fishing closer to the shore to be able to return to vote for elections on March 15th.
Fisherman Tran Van Cuong (60 years old, residing in Lien Tan village, Loc Ha commune) said that his fishing boat usually docks every 5 days. Therefore, from now until the election day, he plans to go to sea again to return in time to participate in voting.
This is the country's election day, so I must also be conscious of participating to exercise my citizens' rights and obligations in order to choose outstanding delegates, representing the voice of the people, for the benefit of the people," fisherman Cuong shared.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (50 years old, residing in Giang Ha village, Loc Ha commune) said that he and 7 crew members had just returned from Bach Long Vi fishing ground after more than 10 days of seafood fishing.
Mr. Nam also plans to go to sea on a shorter trip, about 4 days to be able to return in time to participate in voting for elections.

Major Dang Ba Viet - Deputy Political Commissar of Cua Sot Border Guard Station said that the unit manages 4 communes including Loc Ha, Thach Khe, Thach Lac and Dong Tien. These localities have a fairly large number of fishermen going to sea. In Cua Sot fishing port alone, there are about 250 boats with nearly 1,000 people engaged in fishing at sea.
Therefore, to ensure that fishermen participate in the election day in the highest possible number, in the past time, the unit has closely coordinated with local authorities and the Cua Sot Fishing Port Management Board to strengthen propaganda on the plan to elect National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels so that each citizen can understand clearly, thereby proactively participating in the election.
Cua Sot Border Guard Station has established a working group to regularly go down to ships and boats to remind people of the election plan. In which, special attention is paid to propaganda for fishermen who fish for many days at sea, to be able to return in time before the election day to participate in voting" - Major Viet said.
Mr. Mai Van Luan - Director of the Ha Tinh Provincial Fishing Ports Authority said that the unit has coordinated with border guards, specialized sectors and local authorities to deploy propaganda both directly and indirectly about the election time.
At fishing ports, the election content is disseminated directly at the time fishermen dock or prepare to leave the port. The broadcasting system is maintained to broadcast at 5 am - 7 am every morning for fishermen to follow. Information is also transmitted through ship owners, GPS positioning systems and communication channels at sea.
