On the morning of June 4, Mr. Tran Manh Cuong - Director of Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited - said that on May 31, the unit opened a water supply culvert through an irrigation canal to serve farmers in making soil and planting the Summer - Autumn crop.
During the discharge of this water, a large number of fish (mainly sesame) floated through the water, through the garbage barrier, then continued to flow through the turbine of Ke Go Hydropower Plant, causing the turbine to cut the fish head and trunk.
After the discovery, many local people and employees of Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited used a net to pick up the fish to limit the impact on the environment.

Previously, every time they released water, fish flowed through the discharge gate but only sparsely. This time, the number of fish passed through is quite large. The fish was shot dead by a hydropower turbine many times. This phenomenon has never happened before, Mr. Cuong shared.
Ke Go Lake project was built in 1976, with a capacity of 345 million m3, providing irrigation water for agricultural production in Cam Xuyen, Thach Ha districts and Ha Tinh city.
Recently, the agricultural sector has coordinated with local authorities to release fish many times to regenerate aquatic resources in Ke Go lake. According to local people, there are currently many mermaids in Ke Go lake, with common weights from 5kg - 7kg.
