On September 23, according to Tri An Hydropower Company, as of 8 am on the same day, the water flow to the reservoir is reaching 2,120m3/s, raising the reservoir water level to 60.57m, the total discharge flow to downstream is 779m3/s, downstream water level reaches 5.2m, and electricity output on September 22 reaches nearly 9 million kWh.
Tri An Hydropower Company said it will discharge water through the reservoir regulating spillway at 10:00 AM on September 23 with a water flow rate of 146m3/s. Then, by 3:00 PM on the same day, it will increase the water flow rate to 276m3/s.
Tri An Hydropower Company can flexibly regulate water flow through the spillway depending on weather developments, water flow to the reservoir, water level of Tri An hydropower reservoir, and water level downstream of the river at Bien Hoa hydrological station.
Tri An Hydropower Plant has 4 units, with a total designed capacity of 400MW. This is the largest hydropower project in the Southern region, making a great contribution to the national power grid, helping to regulate domestic water sources, production, push salinity and regulate floods for the downstream area. The downstream area of Tri An Hydropower Plant is an area located along the Dong Nai River basin through Dong Nai City, Ho Chi Minh City.
