Traffic network will create momentum for Gia Lai to develop the economy

Gia Lai - The second largest province in the country expects the main traffic routes from mountainous and plain areas to open up development space.

With an area of over 21,000 km2 and a population of about 3.5 million people, Gia Lai possesses double advantages: the fertile red basalt plateau suitable for growing industrial crops, and the plains with deep-water seaports, processing and transportation services.

Therefore, investing in routes connecting the two areas not only makes it easier to transport agricultural products and goods from the plateau to the plains for deep processing, but also opens up opportunities to bring products into the international export chain.

On August 19, the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway was technically opened to traffic for 46.5 km (including the entire 12XL package and 1.5 km of the 11XL package).

The remaining part of the 11XL package is expected to be completed on September 30, and the entire project will be completed by the end of 2025. The expressway passes through Gia Lai, invested by Project Management Board 85, with a total capital of more than VND 12,400 billion.

Previously, after 3 years of construction, the Southern bypass project of Phu Phong town (now Tay Son commune) was completed and put into use, with a total capital of 800 billion VND.

The project plays an important role in connecting the East-West axis of transportation between the Central Highlands and the Central Coast, reducing pressure on Phu Phong city, while facilitating the transportation of goods and passengers.

Gia Lai people are also excited when the connecting road from DT.638 to the coastal road DT.639 is put into operation. The route is 19.2 km long, with a total investment of nearly VND 818.6 billion, passing through Phu My, Phu My Tay and An Luong communes.

This is an important connection axis from the North - South Expressway to the coastal road, creating a synchronous and smooth traffic network. The project expands development space, attracting investment in Phu My Industrial Park and coastal areas.

With increasingly complete transport infrastructure, along with favorable investment attraction policies, Gia Lai expects these key routes to become a driving force for strong economic growth in the coming period.
