"After receiving the signal from Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan - Flight Director, rear cabin flight (Air Force Regiment 940), the functional forces proceeded to determine the location, approach and rescue.
The forces are also searching for the remaining pilot. If they still cannot find him tonight, the forces will continue searching, even through the night," Mr. Hung said.
Informing the press, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Son - Political Commissar of Binh Dinh Province Military Command said that Comrade Quan had contacted the unit. The search force had located the forest area where Comrade Quan parachuted in Stang village (Vinh An commune, Tay Son district). However, when contacting again, the signal was lost. The plane wreckage has not yet been found.
On the afternoon of November 6, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan was present in Tay Phu commune (Tay Son district) to directly direct the search for the crashed military plane and the pilot.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 11am the same day, a Yak-130 training aircraft encountered an accident, so two pilots parachuted out of the aircraft. The location where the two pilots parachuted to safety was in Tay Xuan Commune (Tay Son District).
The Yak-130 training aircraft (serial number 2101) that had the accident belonged to Air Force Regiment 940, Air Force Officer School located in Binh Dinh province.
The plane took off at 9:55 a.m. the same day, the flight crew consisted of 2 pilots: Colonel Nguyen Van Son - Regiment Commander, flying in the front cabin (Air Force Regiment 940) and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan - Flight Director, flying in the back cabin (Air Force Regiment 940).
After the Yak-130 training aircraft crashed, authorities divided into many teams and mobilized many flycams to search and determine the location of the crashed aircraft.
