To celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2), Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien will offer 100% free tickets to all passengers during the holiday, while implementing many modern forms of payment to serve the people.
Information from Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1) said that on the occasion of National Day September 2, the unit will support all train ticket costs for passengers on Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien).

Accordingly, passengers can take the train for free by scanning the chip-embedded Citizen Identification Card or using the QR code "Independent" on the HCMC Metro HURC application. Note, this QR code is only valid on September 2. Passengers need to download the application, select the "Independent QR" function to create tickets and scan at the ticket gate.
In order to bring maximum convenience, the Company also updates and expands ticket purchases, with a total of 8 flexible payment methods, including:
Buy tickets at automatic ticket machines (TVM) in cash or by card;
Pay directly at the ticket gate by Mastercard, Visa, Napas bank cards;
Use a mobile device linked to a bank card to pay at the gate;
Use a Citizen ID card for monthly tickets or priority tickets linked on the HCMC Metro HURC application;
Buy tickets at the counter with cash or bank card;
Buy tickets at the Automatic Kiosk using a bank card or e-wallet;
Scanning the QR code of an e-wallet directly at the ticket gate;
Buy tickets on the HCMC Metro HURC application linked to bank cards and e-wallets.
In particular, from August 29, the unit will operate 44 automatic paper ticket kiosks at all stations on the entire route.
In addition, passengers can also buy tickets via "Miniapp Metro" on the MoMo application from August 29, applicable to single-trip tickets, daily tickets and monthly tickets.
To promote cashless payments, from September 15, the company will pilot the suspension of selling paper tickets with QR codes at ticket counters at the City Theater, Ba Son, Van Thanh and Phuoc Long stations. Passengers will be guided and supported by staff.
