According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on April 19, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa had scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.
Rainfall measured from 7 am to 3 pm in some places exceeded 40 mm, such as Yen Chau (Son La) 60 mm, Phu Ly (Ninh Binh) 58 mm, Don Phong 1 (Thai Nguyen) 48.5 mm, Sao Vang (Thanh Hoa) 42.4 mm.
The meteorological agency forecasts that on the night of April 19 and the day of April 20, thunderstorms will continue to appear in the North, Thanh Hoa and western Nghe An, with common rainfall of 15-30 mm, locally over 70 mm.
In thunderstorms, there is a risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain can cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
In Son La, the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station said that from April 19 to 20, Son La will continue to have showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
By April 23-24, scattered thunderstorms may return. In the remaining days, the weather is generally rainy in some places, sunny days; especially on April 22, there is a possibility of localized hot sunshine. East to southeast wind level 2-3.
In Dien Bien, on the night of April 19 and the day of April 20, the weather is generally cloudy, with rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, locally with moderate to heavy rain.
Rain mainly concentrates in the late afternoon, night and early morning. During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of thunderstorms, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The local meteorological agency added that Dien Bien will be cold at night and in the morning, cold in high mountainous areas, and intermittent sunshine during the day. The common temperature is from 21-33 degrees Celsius, especially in high mountainous areas from 18-26 degrees Celsius, humidity fluctuates from 65-98%.
In Cao Bang, on the night of April 19 and the day of April 20, the weather in the province's areas is generally cloudy at night and in the morning, with light showers and thunderstorms in some places, intermittent sunshine during the day.
The western areas of the province such as Nguyen Binh, Ca Thanh, Phan Thanh, Thanh Cong, Tinh Tuc, Tam Kim, Minh Tam, Thanh Long, Thong Nong, Can Yen have the lowest temperature of 22-24 degrees C, the highest of 29-31 degrees C. The western and northern mountainous areas such as Ha Quang, Truong Ha, Lung Nam, Tong Cot, Tra Linh, Nam Tuan, Quang Han have the lowest temperature of 20-22 degrees C, the highest of 25-27 degrees C.
Eastern areas such as Trung Khanh, Quang Uyen, Ha Lang, Dam Thuy, Dinh Phong, Ly Quoc, Vinh Quy, Quang Long have the highest temperature of 24-26 degrees C. Southern and central provinces fluctuate from 26-28 degrees C, the lowest is 22-24 degrees C.
In the next three days, from April 21 to 23, Cao Bang maintains cloudy weather patterns at night and in the morning, with showers and thunderstorms in some places, intermittent sunshine during the day. The lowest temperature is commonly 22-24 degrees C, the highest is 29-31 degrees C.
