On July 13, information from the Ho Chi Minh City Command said that the unit is coordinating with the Ho Chi Minh City Police to implement a program to restore free martyrs' photos for relatives and policy families in the city. This is a practical activity within the "Operation 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains", towards the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2027).
The program received the companionship of 20 young volunteers from Team Lee, specializing in receiving and processing martyr's photos that have been blurred, faded, tarnished or torn due to time. By applying technology and digital transformation, the photos will be restored to their original state, digitized for long-term storage. After completion, families will be handed over the original photo file and printed photos completely free of charge to serve worship.
To participate in the program, the Ho Chi Minh City Command requests relatives of martyrs who need to directly contact the Military Command of the commune or ward where they reside to be guided in registering. People are encouraged to send photos in the form of scanned files or re-photos; for original paper photos, functional agencies are committed to managing, strictly preserving and returning them intact. This meaningful activity not only restores the portraits of those who fell but also embellishes the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source" of our nation.
