On June 4, information from the Ministry of Justice said that in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Justice, and the Supreme People's Court held an online conference to deploy the Plan to launch a 9-day and night peak period to clean up marriage data and implement a reduction in marriage confirmation procedures from the Ministry of Public Security's bridge point to the local police.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Deputy Minister of Public Security, Permanent Deputy Head of the Working Group to implement Project 06; reform administrative procedures and digital transformation associated with Project 06 of the Government; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tinh - Deputy Minister of Justice; Mr. Pham Quoc Hung - Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court co-chaired the Conference.
Implemented from May 31, 2025 to August 31, 2025, the above plan identifies 5 key groups of tasks, including: Standardizing and synchronizing marriage and divorce data, confirming marital status from electronic civil status databases, the Court with the National Population Database under the Ministry of Public Security.
Digitize and clean up divorce information data according to the judgment and decision of the Court to update to the National Population Database, and display it on VneID.
Piloting the use of marital status information on VNeID to serve the settlement of administrative procedures and transactions according to the provisions of law.
Coordinate to advise and propose amendments and supplements to relevant legal regulations to officially recognize the legal value of information displayed on VNeID in handling administrative procedures.
Cut down on the content of documents, simplify administrative procedures related to confirmation of marriage status, and move towards abolishing procedures for granting certificates of traditional marriage status.
At the conference, delegates focused on recommending many solutions to effectively implement the plan, including many solutions related to information technology to integrate judicial data with population data.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long requested leaders of local People's Committees and leaders of agencies, units and localities to identify this as a key task, prioritized for top direction in the coming time.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long also requested relevant units under the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Justice, and the Supreme People's Court to immediately deploy technical and professional measures to synchronize and update all data on marital status nationwide, prioritizing completion in pilot localities such as Ha Nam, Thai Nguyen, and Hanoi.
At the same time, pilot the use of marriage status information digitized on VNeID to replace documents confirming marital status in handling administrative procedures in pilot localities.
Promote the application of information technology in handling administrative procedures to build high-level digital government and online public services, creating maximum convenience for citizens and businesses.
