Sports need to combine technology
The athlete data analysis and management software called MyCoach Pro has been officially popular with coaches of Vietnam national sports teams.
On May 21, at the Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports, 12 coaches representing 12 national sports teams were the first to participate in the training program, instructions for using MyCOACH Pro software from the operating unit. In the professional plans developed by the Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports, the application of science and technology combined into professional training in the national sports team is put on top.
When we worked at the 2024 Paris Olympics (France), many advanced technologies that support the coach's direction, help athletes recover... were seen specifically. Therefore, it is necessary to increase investment in technology to improve sports expertise, said the Head of the High-performance Sports Department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) - Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh.
In reality, Vietnamese sports managers clearly understand the importance of applying science and technology to professional training.
However, we face difficulties due to not having much funding for implementation.
To be effective, synchronization is needed
Through research, the specialized MyCoach Pro software will help coaches grasp the parameters and performance indexes of athletes based on the input data provided. From there, many indicators are analyzed for coaches to adjust to practical training.
Many opinions say that if we want to achieve efficiency, we need synchronization. That is, not only equipping special software for coaches, but auxiliary equipment combined with the above technology must also be used in all National Sports Training Centers to serve each athlete and coach.
This software is designed to support Vietnamese football in grasping more data to achieve excellent results in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Management will need time to see how effective the MyCoach Pro software is. Therefore, changing the mindset of coaches is also very necessary. Currently, volleyball is one of the leading sports in applying technology combined with professional training.
Many volleyball teams in Vietnam (including national teams) use humans to record data from specialized software to have analysis index to help coaches adjust tactics right on the field. From this application, many teams have improved their competition results in important tournaments.
