Ho Chi Minh City - On September 14, functional forces continued to expand ditch No. 2 in Zone A, Le Thi Rieng Park, discovering 5 more sets of martyrs' remains.

According to the Team for Repatriating Martyrs' Remains under the Ho Chi Minh City Command, on September 14, the task force continued to expand the search area at ditch No. 2, Area A, Le Thi Rieng Park. More than 300m3 of soil was treated to serve the excavation and search work.

The Ho Chi Minh City Command mobilized 3 excavators, 1 dump truck and 2 3.5-ton trucks to excavate and transport soil, serving the expansion of the search area.

According to records, after about 6 days of excavation and searching, ditch No. 2 in Zone A has been expanded many times horizontally, towards the artificial hill area in Le Thi Rieng Park. The expansion of the ditch is carried out according to traces and areas identified as likely to have remains. Machinery continues to be mobilized to excavate and transport soil to serve the search work.

On September 14, during the digging in this area, functional forces continued to discover and collect 5 more sets of martyrs' remains, including 2 sets with artifacts attached.

From June 23 to the end of September 14, functional forces have discovered and collected 632 sets of martyrs' remains, of which 296 sets have artifacts attached.

Among these, 599 sets of remains were found individually and 33 sets at 8 mass grave locations. Among the 8 mass grave locations, there are 2 locations in Zone A and 6 locations in Zone B.

The search and repatriation of martyrs' remains at Le Thi Rieng Park continues to be implemented, with the search scope in Zone A being expanded towards the artificial hill area.
