Russian forces have expanded their ability to deploy offensive operations in the Dobropolye region of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) after seizing control of the Novogrishino residential area, DPR leader Denis Pushilin said.
Regarding Novogrishino, our units can now access Dobropolye from another direction that is being liberated," he told Vesti channel.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Novogrishino was under control on September 11.
Military expert Andrey Marochko said that Russian forces are besieging the DPR's Druzhkovka from both the East and the West, while pushing back Ukrainian troops south of the city.
Units of the Southern Corps, operating on a front of more than 30km wide, have adjusted contact routes and occupied more favorable routes and positions.
